The Texas Rangers (86-59) host the Seattle Mariners (70-76) on Sunday, hoping to win and maintain their slim lead in the American League West as the season winds downs. Luckily for Texas, they have Seattle kryptonite on the mound in the form of left-hander Matt Harrison (16-9, 3.36 ERA).

Harrison is 9-0 with a 1.62 ERA in 14 games against Seattle, 10 of those appearances starts, since the beginning of the 2009 season. He has won seven consecutive starts against the Mariners, including three this year. Harrison has not lost to Seattle since July of 2008, when he was a rookie.

Irving, Texas, native Blake Beavan (9-9, 5.01 ERA) will be on the hill for Seattle, his third start this season at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. The righty has split his previous two appearances, getting bombed in a May 30 outing while holding the potent Rangers offense to just one run in 6⅓ innings in an April 10 start.
