Adrian Beltre Injury: Rangers 3B Leaves Game With Left Shoulder Sprain

Texas Rangers third basemen Adrian Beltre left Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Indians at the end of the fourth inning with a left shoulder sprain suffered on a diving stop on a Russ Canzler ground ball.

Beltre will have a precautionary MRI on his shoulder and no results will be released tonight, via Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News.

Before the injury, he had hit a two-run home run in in the first inning, his 32nd of the season.

After 5 1/2 innings, the Rangers lead the Indians by a score of 5-2.

The Rangers jumped out to a 4-0 lead, with Ian Kinsler scoring on a fielder's choice followed by Beltre's home run, then a solo home run from Josh Hamilton in the third.

The Indians' Carlos Santana scored on a fielder's choice in the fourth to make it 4-1, but a Geovany Soto sac fly in the bottom of the inning put Texas back up by four.

Santana hit a sac fly in the fifth to make it 5-2.

Texas starter Ryan Dempster is going for his fifth straight win and has given up two runs and seven hits in six innings, striking out eight.

The Indians' Jeanmar Gomez was pulled after four innings. He gave up five runs and six hits before being replaced by David Huff.
