With MLB rosters set to expand on Sept. 1, the Texas Rangers are looking at adding five players to add some depth to their roster. The Rangers have purchased the contract of shortstop Jurickson Profar from Double A Frisco, utility player Brandon Snyder, left-hander Martin Perez, outfielder Leonys Martin, and right-handed pitcher Yoshinori Tateyama, who has been playing in Triple A Round Rock.

Other roster moves for the Rangers involve sending left-handed reliever Robbie Ross on the disabled list with a left forearm strain. Replacing Ross in the lineup is relief pitcher Tanner Scheppers.

They Rangers also made the decision to designate pitcher Miguel De Los Santos for assignment, and then decided to purchase the contract of pitcher Tyler Tufts, but then immediately place him on the disabled list.
