Rangers Vs. Yankees Score: Texas Falls 3-2 Despite Two Hamilton Home Runs

Despite Josh Hamilton's pair of solo home runs, the Texas Rangers (67-49) fell to the New York Yankees 3-2 late Wednesday night. After a one hour and forty-five minute rain delay before the game, the Texas slugger was the only Ranger who seemed to keep his bat awake for the late night. Four Yankees pitchers combined to hold Texas to just four hits.

Freddy Garcia (7-5) picked up the win for New York (70-47), who used a three-run third inning to secure the win. Scott Feldman (6-8) gave up consecutive hits to Jayson Nix, Derek Jeter, and Nick Swisher to start the inning with Curtis Granderson and Eric Chavez picking up RBI in the frame. Chavez was 3-3 from the plate in the win.

Hamilton's display of power moved his home run total to 34 while he also eclipsed the century mark with 101 RBI. The Rangers, who still hold a six-game lead over Oakland in the AL West, will finish the four-game series with New York tomorrow. Derek Holland (7-6) takes the bump for Texas, facing off against Ivan Nova (11-6).
