Texas Rangers Vs. Chicago White Sox: Sunday Preview, TV Schedule And More

The Texas Rangers will look to avoid being swept by the Chicago White Sox as the two teams finish up a three-game series at the Ballpark in Arlington Sunday night.

Scott Feldman (4-6, 5.37 ERA) will take the mound for the Rangers, trying to keep his spot in the rotation. Feldman was excellent in his last trip to the mound against the Boston Red Sox, giving up seven hits and one earned run over seven innings of work. With injuries to Colby Lewis and Roy Oswalt, Feldman will have to produce like he did against Boston if the Rangers are to make another deep run in the playoffs this year.

The White Sox will counter with Gavin Floyd (8-8, 4.46 ERA), who is on a good run of form over the past month and a half. Floyd has given up two earned runs or less in four of his last five stars, including his last start against the Minnesota Twins on July 23. Floyd gave up six hits and three runs, two earned, over six innings in Chicago's 7-4 win.

Texas Rangers Vs. Chicago White Sox: Saturday Preview, TV Schedule And More

Well, Friday didn't go exactly as planned for the Texas Rangers. The Los Angeles Angels acquired Zack Greinke, and Yu Darvish was knocked around by the Chicago White Sox in a Friday loss -- though Darvish wasn't aided by his defense any.

On Saturday, the Rangers will look to take the second game of a three-game set against the White Sox, as Matt Harrison will look for his 13th win of the season.

Harrison has arguably been Texas' best pitcher in 2012, as indicated by his 12-5 record and 3.02 ERA and 1.25 WHIP. Harrison hasn't missed too many bats though, striking out just 77 in 128 and 1/3 innings -- preventing him from being a true ace. Still, Harrison will look to get the Rangers back on track on Saturday.

Harrison will be opposed by Phil Humber. Despite throwing a perfect game this year, Humber has a 6.25 ERA and 1.49 WHIP on the season. Humber has allowed 16 homers in just 76 and 1/3 innings this year, so the Rangers have a pretty decent chance to hit a few home runs on Saturday night.

Televised coverage can be found on FOX Sports Southwest. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT.

Rangers Vs. White Sox Final Score: Chicago Defeats Texas 9-5

Texas Rangers starting pitcher Yu Darvish had his worst start at home as he gave up six runs -- five earned -- on eight hits with three walks and six strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work. The six runs are the most runs he's given up at home this year. The poor outing by Darvish led to a 9-5 loss to the Chicago White Sox. It could have been worse for Darvish as he gave up three singles and a walk, but he only allowed one run in the first inning.

The Rangers rushed out to a 4-1 lead when they scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning off of Chris Sale, but the White Sox came back to score two runs in the second and fourth innings to take a 5-4 lead. Each team exchanged runs in the seventh inning to keep it a one run game at 6-5.

In the bottom of the seventh inning the Rangers had a chance to blow open the game as Josh Hamilton had the bases loaded and one out, and he scored on a fielder's choice. Adrian Beltre walked to lead the bases but Michael Young hit a line drive to end the inning.

The White Sox secured the win in the top of the ninth when they scored three runs off of reliever Alexi Ogando when Alex Rios hit a RBI double and then Alexei Ramirez hit a two-run home run to extend their lead to ultimately win 9-5.
