2012 MLB All-Star Game: Ron Washington Not Sorry For Picking Rangers

Stay connected for news and updates

The Texas Rangers will send seven players to Kansas City for the All-Star Game. So does Ron Washington, who is managing the team, feel any remorse for having such a large portion of the squad?

Not really.

"I don't think the Texas Rangers have to apologize because we've got good players," AL manager Ron Washington of Texas said. "I certainly didn't pick my guys being selfish, I picked them very deserving of being All-Stars, bottom line."

Josh Hamilton, Mike Napoli, Adrian Beltre, Ian Kinsler, Matt Harrison, Joe Nathan and Elvis Andrus made the team.

Kinsler was perhaps the most controversial of the selections, as he is having a good but not great year, but his inclusion was from the players' selections, not Washington's.

Texas could add another player if Yu Darvish wins the Final Vote.
