Texas Rangers starting pitcher Yu Darvish could become the eighth Ranger to earn a spot at the 2012 MLB All-Star game in Kansas City. Darvish has been selected as one of the five finalist to earn the final spot for the American League roster.
The others in contention are all pitchers in Kansas City Royals Jonathan Broxton, Los Angeles Angels Ernesto Frieri, Baltimore Orioles Jason Hammel and Chicago White Sox Jake Peavy.
Darvish is a worthy candidate to be an All-Star as he is 10-5, has a 3.57 ERA, 106 strike outs and a 1.38 WHIP.
Voting is already underway and it can be done over at MLB.com or TexasRangers.com and goes up until 3 p.m. CT on Thursday July 5. The announcement of who won the vote will take place shortly after the polls close.
