Alexi Ogando Injury: Texas Pitcher Could Be Headed To Disabled List

The Texas Rangers could be down yet another pitcher after Alexi Ogando left Sunday's game with what appeared to be a strained groin. Ogando suffered the injury while running to first base in the top of the fourth inning against the Giants.

Ogando isn't scheduled to start again until Saturday but will get an MRI on Monday.

"Right now it feels pretty bad. Tomorrow I will get an MRI but right now it doesn't feel good,"

Ogando threw three perfect innings against the Giants on Sunday before suffering the injury. He was making his first start of the season after starter Derek Holland went on the disabled list with a fatigued shoulder and a stomach virus. Ogando has appeared in 28 games this season and is 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA.

Rangers Vs. Giants Recap: Texas Defense Slips In 5-2 Loss

Scott Feldman had his best start of the season, but some sloppy defense and little run support cost the Texas Rangers on Saturday afternoon as they lost 5-2 to the San Francisco Giants.

Feldman went 5.1 innings while throwing 7 strikeouts to only 1 walk, but he still gave up 3 runs, including one unearned, on 4 hits. Three Texas errors, including Ian Kinsler throwing a ball over Michael Young's head on a run-down and Josh Hamilton losing a fly ball in the sun, didn't help matters.

It was more than enough for San Francisco starter Ryan Vogelsong, who gave up only 3 hits and 1 run in 7.2 innings of work.

The only Ranger who could get anything going against Vogelsong was Mitch Moreland, who hit a solo HR as a pinch-hitter in the top of the 8th inning.

Texas made a late run against the Giants bullpen, who have been without Brian Wilson for most of the season. Mike Napoli hit a solo HR on the top of the 9th as Bruce Bochy cycled through four relief pitchers in the game's final 1.1 innings.

With the tying run on the on-deck circle, Shane Casilla ended up picking up the save for San Francisco when he struck out Brandon Snyder.

Texas Rangers Vs. San Francisco Giants: Preview, TV Schedule And More

A night after winning for the first time ever in San Francisco, the Texas Rangers look to make it two in a row.

Scott Feldman gets the start for the Rangers, and he has quite the difficult act to follow. Matt Harrison was brilliant on Friday night, pitching a complete game shutout, while allowing just five hits without issuing a walk.

Feldman will look to improve on his latest start, which shouldn't be difficult. Feldman was blasted on June 4, lasting just an inning and two thirds, giving up eight runs on seven hits and a walk. To date, Feldman is 0-4 with an atrocious 7.01 ERA and 1.64 WHIP. Further, Feldman has walked 13 and struck out only 14.

Feldman's counterpart on Saturday will be Ryan Vogelsong, who has once again been effective for the Giants. After starting the year out on the disabled list, Vogelsong has rebounded and pitched nicely, to the the tune of a 4-2 record, with a 2.38 ERA, .228 BAA and 1.22 WHIP.

First pitch is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. CT from AT&T Park in San Francisco. Televised coverage can be found both on FOX Sports Southwest and MLB Network.

Matt Harrison Brilliant, Rangers Shut Out Giants 5-0

Matt Harrison was brilliant on Friday night, as the southpaw starter went the distance, pitching a complete game shutout against the San Francisco Giants as the Rangers cruised to a 5-0 victory.

Harrison's effort was nothing shy of dominant. Though he only struck out four Giants in the contest, Harrison gave up just five hits while issuing no walks. Harrison also recorded 18 ground ball outs in the game.

Ian Kinsler set the tone for the night in his first at bat. Leading off for Texas, Kinsler homered off of San Francisco starter Barry Zito, putting the Rangers up 1-0 -- which was more than enough for Harrison on Friday night.

Offensively, the Rangers pounded out 14 hits against the Giants. Craig Gentry was a perfect 5-5 in the game, with a run scored and two RBI. Josh Hamilton only notched one hit, but he made it count, as he belted his 22nd homer of the season.

The series will resume on Saturday, as Scott Feldman will look to notch his first win of the year against Ryan Vogelsong.
