The Rangers may have fallen short against the Tigers in their series opener on Monday, but they have a wins leader among rookies in Yu Darvish taking the mound Tuesday against a Detroit team that is battling for the top spot in the odd AL Central.
Darvish is 9-4 with a 3.45 ERA, facing Drew Smyly (2-2, 3.96 ERA) in the pitching matchup. Smyly is an Arkansas native who actually lives nearby in Dallas and he expects to have family in attendance. Hopefully for Rangers fans, the team is able to spoil the homecoming and avoid a two-game losing skid.
