Texas Rangers Vs. Houston Astros: Justin Grimm Set To Make MLB Debut

Stay connected for news and updates

Justin Grimm will have a tough act to follow. Grimm gets to make his major league debut against the Houston Astros on Saturday night, just one night after Yu Darvish rebounded with an excellent performance in which Darvish struck out 11 and allowed just two runs.

Grimm, who is filling in for the injured Alexi Ogando, who was filling in for the injured Derek Holland, excelled in AA this year, prompting his call up. Through 77 innings in AA, Grimm allowed just 65 hits while walking 14 and striking out 67 -- helping make his sparkling 1.87 ERA possible.

Texas' bats will face off against Lucas Harrell, who comes into the game with a 6-4 record and a 4.83 ERA. Harrell has walked 28 while striking out only 38 in 76.1 innings, so expect plenty of balls in play by the Rangers offense tonight.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. CT at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Televised coverage can be found on FOX, which blacks out the game on MLB.tv.
