The Rangers have been in a bit of a funk lately, dropping two of three to Tampa Bay last weekend before dropping two of three to the Toronto Blue Jays to start off this week. Texas dropped the first game of the three-game set against the Indians last night as well.
Derek Holland starts on Saturday for the Rangers, as they look to get back to their winning ways. Holland has not pitched well lately, giving up 12 runs in 13 innings in his last two starts, with a pedestrian six walks and nine strikeouts in those 13 innings. Still, Holland is 2-2 on the year, and will look to lower his 5.13 ERA and 1.26 WHIP against the Indians on Saturday.
Texas' bats will face off against sinkerballer Derek Lowe. Despite walking more than he's struck out on the season (10 walks, nine strikeouts in 31.2 innings), Lowe sports a 2.27 ERA and 4-1 record. Lowe's WHIP and BAA are high as well, at 1.42 and .282, respectively. Since Lowe fails to miss bats, the Rangers should be putting the ball in play plenty on Saturday night.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. from Progressive Field in Cleveland. Televised coverage can be found on Fox Sports Southwest.
