Josh Hamilton Injury: Texas Rangers Slugger Says He 'Just Needed A Day'

Stay connected for news and updates

Josh Hamilton told the media Monday afternoon that he basically woke up on the wrong side of the bed with the upper respiratory infection that's going to keep him out of the Memorial Day game against the Seattle Mariners.

With the Rangers playing so well and having so many weapons from top to bottom in their hitting lineup, it's better to be safe than sorry if Hamilton is feeling like this.

"The last couple of days has been a little weird," Hamilton said when he arrived at the stadium Monday. "Anytime you have sinus or chest stuff it all goes back to me not feeling quite right. I just feel off. I stayed home from the event (Sunday) night went to bed at 8:15 and got up at 1:30 today. Rolled over twice maybe, just when I got up, I felt off. I called Wash and told him I probably needed a day just to be sure. Just try to get more rest."
