Stay connected for news and updates

The Texas Rangers struck first in Monday night's game against the Royals when Nelson Cruz went deep with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth to take a 1-0 lead.

At the end of four innings, Texas starter Scott Feldman has given up just one hit. The lone hit is from Jeff Francoer. Feldman is making his second start of the season, as he spends most of his time in the bullpen. In his previous start, he lasted 3 1/3 innings, where he gave up six hits and two earned runs.

The Rangers have four hits. Josh Hamilton is 1-for-1 with a walk.
