Rangers Vs Yankees: Texas Wins 7-3, Takes Series 2-1

The tests keep getting tougher for the Texas Rangers, yet the victories keep coming, this time at the hands of the New York Yankees.

Adrian Beltre looked completely healthy, putting up three hits and beginning the scoring with a home run that carried nearly all the way up Green's Hill. Ian Kinsler also had three hits, and Mike Napoli and Mitch Moreland each added a home run, as Texas pounded New York pitching for 11 hits, four walks, and just three strikeouts towards seven runs scored.

After an early exit from Scott Feldman -- who allowed two earned -- the Texas bullpen turned in another dominating performance. Robbie Ross, Neftali Feliz, Mike Adams, and Joe Nathan combined pitched five and two-thirds innings with five strikeouts and just two baserunners allowed. The run came on a meaningless home run off Feliz, putting in light work with a skipped start coming up. Ros moves to 4-0 in his rookie season.

The Yankees had eight hits, two each from Derek Jeter, Robinson Cano, Mark Teixeira, and Raul Ibanez; only three for extra bases.

The emphatic win gives Texas their sixth straight series victory to start the season.

With the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim losing 3-2 to the Rays, the Rangers are up 8.5 on the team expected to give them a run for the division, and are up 5.5 on the second place Oakland Athletics. Their run differential sits at +55, still by far the best in baseball.
