Per FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi, Hamilton is atop the list of Baltimore's targets for left fielders this winter. With Adam Jones locked in as Baltimore's center fielder, Hamilton would be relegated to left field -- should he sign with the Orioles.
Late last week, it was reported that Hamilton is seeking a seven-year, $175 million dollar deal in free agency. While it seems unlikely that Hamilton will receive an offer for seven years, the Orioles have attempted to make big splashes recently in free agency, including a failed attempt to sign first baseman Mark Teixeira -- and Baltimore could be a team that is willing to get more creative to sign Hamilton to a contract.
A clearer picture of Hamilton's suitors will emerge as the winter meetings get closer, but so far, it appears that both the Orioles and Milwaukee Brewers have legitimate interest in signing the left fielder.
Since the Rangers made Hamilton a qualifying offer last week, the Rangers would be compensated with draft picks if and when Hamilton departs.
