Kelly Shoppach is back at it. His second homer off of C.J. Wilson gave the Rays a commanding 8-0 lead in Game 1 of the ALDS.
Wilson has been knocked around, giving up eight runs -- six earned -- on seven hits, allowing three home runs. Wilson, not surprisingly, has labored through the five innings, throwing 103 pitches with only 66 being strikes.
Shoppach had a regular season to forget, hitting .176/.268/.339 with 11 homers in 221 at bats. He's started to atone for that in the playoffs, though, as he's 3-for-3, with two homers, three runs scored in five RBI in Game 1 of the ALDS.
