Texas Rangers' Bullpen Carries Them One Win Away From World Series

The Texas Rangers showed some versatility on Wednesday night in their 7-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers. The Rangers had to use their bullpen for six innings after starting pitcher Matt Harrison could only get through five innings on 91 pitches.

Alexi Ogando, Mike Adams, Darren Oliver, Scott Feldman and Neftali Feliz combined to throw six innings of relief while giving up just one run for the Rangers. They find themselves just one win away from reaching the World Series after these five relievers helped give them a 3-1 lead in the series.

They will face Justin Verlander on Thursday and it's a much better idea to face Verlander with a 3-1 lead, rather than the series being tied at 2-2. These relievers may have very well thrown the most important six innings of the Rangers' season thus far.

Feldman picked up the win for the Rangers by throwing a scoreless 10th inning. Michael Young talked about how important Feldman has been to the team. via espn.com

"He's been a huge part of our team for a long time now," Michael Young said. "When you have microfracture surgery that's no small thing. We all saw how good he was in 2009. He's shown many times what he means to this team. He's always been a great teammate. I think we're really happy now he's able to make contributions because he deserves it. He deserves the chance and he's capitalizing on it."
