While there has been light rain throughout the city of Detroit most of the morning, to the point where a tarp was placed over the infield at Comerica Park earlier, Game 4 of the ALCS between the Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers is still on schedule.
The Weather Channel predicted a 30% chance of rain in today's forecast, but "Weather Authority Ben Bailey" of Detroit's FOX TV affiliate doesn't expect the game to be cancelled. However, he is warning that a delay is possible.
It would be the second-bit of inclement weather in the ALCS, as there were two hour-long delays during Game 1 Saturday in Dallas. That prompted the league to postpone Game 2 until Monday, creating a rare playoff stretch of four games in four days this week.
Perhaps the biggest beneficiaries of a delay would be the fans in both cities, many of whom have been unable to watch weekday games that start in the middle of the workday.
