Texas will face New Mexico at Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
After a strong start to the season against the Wyoming Cowboys, David Ash and the Texas Longhorns will take on the New Mexico Lobos on Saturday as they seek a 2-0 record.
Ash's game against the Cowboys, a game where he went 20-for-27 in the passing game with a touchdown, showed improvement from 2011 and should give the Longhorns hopes to improve from their 8-5 record last season.
B.R. Holbrook, on the other hand, will likely see more touches than what he got against Southern University in the Lobos' first game. In the 66-21 win for New Mexico, Joseph had only eight passes, completing six of them and picking up a touchdown. Backup QB Cole Gautsche had two passes as well in the rout.
Texas' defense will need to focus more on the running game from the Lobos -- New Mexico had five touchdowns from four different targets in the running game against the Jaguars in their first game with seven different players getting at least double-digit rushing yards.
As with Texas' previous game against Wyoming, the game will be shown exclusively on the Longhorn Network, which was recently picked up by major carrier AT&T uVerse.
Game Time: 7 p.m. CT at Texas Memorial Stadium
TV: Longhorn Network
Point spread: Texas favored by 37 points.
