The accolades continue coming in for Texas senior DE Alex Okafor, who was named the Big 12's Preseason Defensive Player of the Year on Wednesday.
In his first season moving back outside after playing as a DT, Okafor was a unanimous first-team All Big 12 selection, racking up 58 tackles and 7 sacks.
Three other Longhorns made the team -- DE Jackson Jeffcoat, RB Malcolm Brown and S Kenny Vaccaro. Texas finished behind only Oklahoma State (5) and Oklahoma (5), as none of the conference's ten teams pulled away from the pack in terms of selections.
Baylor had two selections, TE Jordan Navjar and OL Cyril Richardson, as the Bears try to continue the momentum from RG3's historic season in 2011.
TCU, in its first year in the Big 12, had only one selection -- DL Stansly Maponga.
