Junior guard J'Covan Brown will leave the Texas Longhorns one season early to enter the NBA draft, according to a statement released on the school's website.

Brown was 16th in the nation in scoring last season, averaging 20.1 points per game. He cited family reasons as to why he was entering the draft.

"There were a lot of reasons to come back to school next year, most importantly getting my degree and being around my teammates every day. But the time has come for me to pursue a career in professional basketball and take care of my daughter, Jordyn."

In Brown's final game at Texas, the Longhorns fell to Cincinnati, 65-59, in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Brown finished 19 points, five rebounds and six assists.
