With the addition of TCU to the Big 12, DFW-area college football fans will have the chance to see far more Big 12 football in person in 2012.
In preparation for their jump to a BCS conference, the Horned Frogs began renovating Amon G. Carter Stadium in late 2010. The construction, which will cost the school $165 million, is set to be finished by the Horned Frogs home opener on Sep. 17 against Louisiana-Monroe, and will push capacity from 50,000 to over 70,000.
The big question for the small private school will be whether their comparatively small alumni base will be able to fill all the new seats, especially against state schools like Texas and Oklahoma with huge alumni contingents in the DFW metroplex.
TCU will travel to Austin to play the Longhorns on Nov. 24 and will host the Sooners on Dec. 1 as part of their 2012 conference schedule:
September 15: at Kansas
October 6: Iowa State
October 13: at Baylor
October 20: Texas Tech
October 27: at Oklahoma State
November 3: at West Virginia
November 10: Kansas State
November 24: at Texas
December 1: Oklahoma
