Texas has used an explosive passing game to jump out to a two-score lead over Iowa State through one half of play in Austin.
The Texas Longhorns hold a 20-7 halftime lead over the Iowa State Cyclones at Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin. Quarterback David Ash led the way in the first half for the Longhorns, completing 15-of-16 passes for 245 yards and two touchdowns.
Texas jumped out to a 20-0 lead, scoring twice in the first quarter and tacking on another touchdown late in the second. However, after Anthony Fera's missed extra point, Iowa State put together a seven-play, 64-yard drive, capped off by Steele Jantz's 14-yard touchdown pass to Quenton Bundrage, to get on the board. Jantz was 10-of-18 for 102 yards, with a touchdown and an interception in the half.
Longhorns' wide receiver Mike Davis had a big first half, catching five passes for 105 yards and a touchdown. As a whole, Texas' offense was firing on all cylinders, putting up 344 total yards to Iowa State's 213.
