Baylor vs. Texas score update: Longhorns lead Bears 49-43

Stay connected for news and updates

The Texas Longhorns head into the fourth quarter with a 49-43 lead over the Baylor Bears.

The Bears got the scoring started in the second half. Starting the initial drive at their 25 yard line, Baylor drove 75 yards in less than three minutes. Bears quarterback Nick Florence almost turned it over as he fumbled on the Longhorns one yard line, but it was recovered in the end zone by tight end Jordan Najvar for a touchdown. Baylor went for two, but the attempt was unsuccessful.

Baylor finally mustered a stop against the high-powered Longhorn offense and cut the deficit to two following a 42-yard field goal off the foot of Aaron Jones.

This slim margin wouldn’t last long, as it only took Texas two plays, including a 67-yard pass, to score. Running back Joe Bergeron found the end zone for the fifth time, putting the Longhorns up 49-40.

Jones kicked another field goal for the Bears, making it a one-possession game heading into the final quarter.
