The Oklahoma Sooners have used a long drive and quick strike to take the early lead over the Texas Longhorns.
The Sooners used a 14-play, 75-yard drive to take the early lead. Oklahoma opted against kicking a field goal on fourth down at the Texas 11-yard line, handing the ball off to quarterback Blake Bell for the first down. Bell then took the ball eight yards for a touchdown. Texas then blocked the Oklahoma extra point attempt, leading to Quandre Diggs running the ball back for two points, making the score 6-2.
A Texas punt pinned the Sooners on their own five, but just two plays later, quarterback Landry Jones handed the ball off to running back Damien Williams, who took the ball 95 yards down the Sooner sideline for a touchdown, putting Oklahoma up 13-2.
The Longhorn offense was forced to punt again and has only managed 14 total yards, compared to the Sooners 176 including 139 yards on the ground.
