The Texas Longhorns outscored Nicholls State by 30 points in the second half on its way to a 93-40 victory over the Colonels. Texas improves to 7-2 on the season and 6-0 at home.
J'Covan Brown finished with a game-high 23 points to lead the Longhorns. Three other players scored in double figures led by Jaylen Bond's 18 points and 12 rebounds. Sterling Gibbs tossed in 14 points including 3-3 shooting from three-point range. Sheldon McClellan also finished in double figures with 12 points. The Longhorns hit 48 percent of their shots and held a 49-22 rebounding advantage. Texas also forced the Colonels into 20 turnovers in the game.
Bryan Hammond led Nicholls State with nine points and grabbed seven rebounds. Trevon Lewis and Jeremy smith each finished with seven points. Lewis finished 3-14 from the field and Nicholls State only hit 28 percent of their attempts from the field.
