Rick Barnes' young team will try to have a strong showing before a stretch of two tough non-conference games at the end of the month.
The Texas Longhorns will look for their sixth straight win against non-conference competition in a home game Tuesday against Nicholls State.
The 7:00 PM game will be televised regionally on The Longhorn Network and broadcast on KRLD 1080 AM in the DFW area.
Texas has built its win-streak on the backs of wins against low-major teams like the 3-6 Colonels of the Southland Conference. Since blowing last-minute losses to Oregon State and NC State, the only Longhorn victory over a high-major team has come against UCLA, which is under-.500 and having one of its worst seasons in Ben Howland's nearly decade-long tenure in Westwood.
Nicholls State has only two players scoring in double digits -- 6'6 sophomore forward Chris Talkington and 6'5 freshman guard Trevon Lewis.
For Texas, their game Tuesday is the last tune-up before tough non-conference games against Atlantic 10 power Temple on Dec. 17 and a road date with No. 6 North Carolina on Dec. 21.
