Texas is off, giving TCU the state spotlight this weekend in college football.

With the Texas Longhorns off on Saturday, the No. 17 TCU Horned Frogs have the state spotlight to themselves as they prepare for a non-conference test with the Virginia Cavaliers.

The Cavs (2-1) should provide TCU with its first real test of the season. TCU has had no problem dusting off Grambling and Kansas while racking up over 500 yards of offense per game in the process. After Virginia, TCU has one more non-conference game at SMU next week before Big 12 play kicks into full gear.

Elsewhere, the Baylor Bears look to improve to 3-0 when they travel to face Louisiana-Monroe in a nationally televised game on ESPN Friday night.

Here are some other matchups of interest to the Dallas area in college football this weekend. All times are CT:

Baylor Bears at Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks, Friday, 7 p.m.

Virginia Cavaliers at No. 17 TCU Horned Frogs, Saturday, 11 a.m.

Texas-El Paso at Wisconsin, Saturday, 11 a.m.

Troy at North Texas, Saturday, 6 p.m.

Stephen F. Austin at Texas State, Saturday, 6 p.m.
