2012 NFL Supplemental Draft: TCU's Ed Wesley Goes Undrafted

The 2012 NFL supplemental draft came and went with only former Baylor wide receiver Josh Gordon was drafted, and he went to the Cleveland Browns in the second round.

TCU Horned Frogs running back Ed Wesley was widely considered to be the second best player in the draft and had a chance of getting drafted, but all of the NFL teams passed on Wesley.

Pro Football Talk speculated that it was Wesley's height and 40-yard time that had NFL teams lose interest:

Former TCU running back Ed Wesley was generally considered the second-best player in this year's supplemental draft, but after he measured 5-foot-8 and weighed 196 pounds, and ran the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds, we weren't expecting him to be selected.

The next step for Wesley is to try to sign as an undrafted free agent with a team, but he will be behind in learning a teams playbook since he did not take part in mini camps. Now only has one shot if he gets picked up by a team for their training camp.
