2012 NFL Supplemental Draft: Baylor WR Josh Gordon Is 'Overhyped'

Stay connected for news and updates

The 2012 NFL Supplemental Draft will be held on Thursday, as NFL teams look to, well, supplement their current rosters with another crop of college players.

One of the players in the draft is Baylor wide receiver Josh Gordon. Gordon held a very solid pro day for himself on Tuesday, running the 40 yard dash in 4.52 seconds. Despite the fact that he pulled a muscle, Gordon finished his workout and did not drop a single pass during his receiving drills.

Not surprisingly, Robert Griffin III, who was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, is lobbying for Washington to select his former teammate.

While the reports have seemingly been glowing, there are a few scouts who remain unimpressed by Gordon.

A fifth-to-seventh round wide receiver doesn't sound particularly inspiring, and typically, a player drafted in those rounds would need to contribute on special teams to crack an NFL roster.

We'll see where Gordon ends up soon, as the Supplemental Draft is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
