SWAC Basketball Tournament 2012: Miss. Valley State Advances 71-64

Mississippi Valley State wins a tight one defeating Arkansas-Pine Bluff 71-64 to advance to the finals of the SWAC Tournament. The Delta Devils will take on Texas Southern in the finals on Saturday.

Cor-J Cox paced Mississippi Valley State with 19 points and 11 rebounds off the bench. Paul Crosby poured in 18 points and Amos Studivant added 14. The Delta Devils controlled the inside racking up a 42-26 rebounding advantage.

Mitchell Anderson knocked down 17 points for the Golden Lions but was just 1-7 from three-point range in the game. Daniel Broughton added 12 points and nine rebounds while Lazabian Jackson finished with 11.

The Delta Devils will take on Texas Southern in the tournament final on Saturday at 7 p.m. CT.
