Gary Patterson's Believes His TCU Wide Receivers Are The Fastest In The Big 12

The TCU Horned Frogs have every reason to believe that their inaugural season in the Big 12 conference could end with a championship banner at season's end. The Horned Frogs are solid at key positions on the offense with Casey Pachaell at quarterback and Ed Wesley at runningback, and will look to feature one of the best defensive ends in the country in Stansly Maponga returning as a junior.

However, the one position that Patterson really believes in right now? The wide receivers.

Per Mac Engel of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Patterson's defensive backs have been through the fire this spring trying to cover their wide receivers this season.

"If we can cover our group, we'll be able to cover anybody in the country," Patterson said. "I don't know if we'll play anybody with a faster group of wideouts."

TCU returns two productive wideouts in Josh Boyce and Skye Dawson for their 2012 campaign, as the duo combined for 106 catches, 1498 yards and 14 touchdowns. Patterson has also been enamored with his 6'4", 222-pound redshirt freshman wide receiver LaDarius Green. With sprinter speed and imposing size, Green has been "a migraine" to the Horned Frogs secondary.
