Oklahoma vs. TCU halftime score: Sooners lead, 14-7, with possible BCS berth on the line

US PRESSWIRE

The Oklahoma Sooners are helping their own BCS cause so far today, leading TCU 14-7 at halftime. They'll need a win and a Kansas State loss to be Big 12 champions.

The Oklahoma Sooners used touchdowns in the final minutes of each quarter to grab a 14-7 halftime lead Saturday over the TCU Horned Frogs in a crucial regular season finale.

A win today for Oklahoma on the road would put pressure on Kansas State tonight to win its game against Texas. If the Wildcats lose and the Sooners hold on today, Oklahoma will win the Big 12 and get the league's BCS berth.

In a game that was scoreless for the first 14:30, Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones finally put the Sooners on the board with an 11-yard touchdown pass to Damien Williams. The Sooners led 7-0 after a quarter.

That lead stood for almost the rest of the first half. But with just under four minutes to play in the second quarter, Sam Carter intercepted a pass from Jones and ran it back 43 yards to set up a TCU touchdown. On the next snap, Trevone Boykin ran the remaining six yards for the score, tying the game at 7.

Jones redeemed himself just a few minutes later though, with a 24-yard touchdown pass to Jalen Saunders to cap a nine-play, 75-yard drive, giving Oklahoma a 14-7 lead.

Jones was 14-of-23 passing in the first half for 153 yards. BJ Catalon led the TCU offense with 20 rushing yards on five carries.
