Bill Snyder hopeful Collin Klein can play against TCU

Wildcats quarterback Collin Klein is expected to start against TCU, though head coach Bill Snyder wouldn't declare it with absolute certainty.

The Kansas State Wildcats are fighting for a berth in the BCS national championship game and after leaving last week's 44-30 victory over the Oklahoma State Cowboys, quarterback Collin Klein is expected to play Saturday against the TCU Horned Frogs.

But although he's expected to play, head coach Bill Snyder won't declare Klein the starter outright and declined to discuss the specifics of the Heisman Trophy candidate's injury this week.

"Let's cut to the chase," Snyder said on Tuesday. "Would I expect him to play? I certainly hope that's the case, and I would expect that to take place."

Klein has been the do-everything signal-caller behind the Wildcats' 9-0 start to the season and current No. 2 ranking in the BCS standings. The senior has thrown for 1,875 yards and 12 touchdowns with two interceptions while also rushing for 698 yards and 17 touchdowns on the ground.

Snyder went on to speak about his choice in not revealing details of Klein's ailment, saying, "My interest in our players is beyond football, and I always want to do the right thing for young people in our program, and I think anybody would feel the same way.

"I don't want to put any young person in jeopardy. That's why I don't address injuries."
