With TCU Horned Frogs quarterback Casey Pachall unlikely to suit up again this season following an arrest for driving while intoxicated and an indefinite suspension, SB Nation's Frogs O' War bloggers are worried, and rightfully so.
The junior signal caller has had a rough 2012 season after being arrested for DWI on Wednesday, suspended indefinitely by TCU head coach Gary Patterson on Thursday, and admitting a few months ago that he failed a drug test and used cocaine and ecstasy.
Redshirt freshman Trevone Boykin is expected to take over at quarterback for the Frogs. In limited action in 2012, he's thrown for 79 yards and a touchdown on 9-of-10 passing, as well as 122 yards rushing on 12 carries.
Frogs O' War contributor, Purple Wimple is a little concerned about the Frogs sans Pachall going forward:
It's not going to be news that I think TCU was going to be underdogs most of the rest of the way. Pachall was going to read the defenses better than Boykin this season, and we'll miss that. But the win-loss totals may not show the difference; TCU has been setting itself up to lose plenty of games in 2012, with or without Pachall.
Fellow FOW contributor Fungo Frog is worried about Pachall's replacement, redshirt freshman Trevone Boykin handling the offense in Pachall's absence against Iowa State on Saturday:
Iowa State is a good team with real talent, and Boykin is a real freshman with limited expierience (albeit, worlds of talent) who, even if he knows all the plays, hasn't seen more than 3-5 of them unfold against an oposing defefense. Freshman QBs dont understand check downs, they don't understand going to a second read, they don't understand leadership.
Kickoff for Saturday's No. 15 TCU vs. Iowa State game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT.

The junior signal-caller for the No. 15 Horned Frogs was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Wednesday night. That DWI came a few months after Pachall's admission of a failed drug test and recent cocaine and ecstasy use.
Patterson issued a brief statement on Wednesday explaining that while he's responsible for winning football games, hes also responsible for helping his players with their lives.
TCU assistant athletics director of media relations Mark Cohen said there will be no further comment or media availability from the university.

TCU Horned Frogs starting quarterback Casey Pachall has been suspended indefinitely by the team after being arrested for DWI on Wednesday night, according to a report from the AP.
Horned Frogs head coach Gary Patterson made the announcement on Thursday, according to the article, as Pachall was pulled over by Fort Worth police for going through a stop sign. The quarterback had a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit, though the exact number wasn't specified.
Pachall was arrested close to TCU's campus and jailed in Mansfield, where he was held on $1,000 bond.
The junior quarterback has thrown for 948 yards, 10 touchdowns and only one interception so far this season for the undefeated Horned Frogs, who will host Iowa State this Saturday in a Big 12 contest.
This incident comes on the heels of Pachall's admission, which surfaced in August, of a failed drug test in February.
Behind Pachall on TCU's quarterback depth chart are two underclassmen in Trevone Boykin, a redshirt freshman, and true frosh Tyler Matthews.
