West Virginia favored against TCU by a touchdown

Justin K. Aller

The over/under of 68 is one of the highest of the weekend, as neither the TCU or West Virginia defenses have had much success in recent weeks.

After back-to-back losses, the national-title hopes for the West Virginia Mountaineers have certainly passed, and Geno Smith has gone from Heisman favorite, to an after-thought for the award. However, considering the trouble that the TCU Horned Frogs' defense has had in recent weeks, a game between the two could be the high-scoring game that gets the Mountaineers back on track for a BCS bowl.

West Virginia is favored by 7 points, and the over/under of 68 is one of the highest marks of the weekend. In their three losses over the last four weeks, the Horned Frogs allowed a combined 129 points. However, the Mountaineers' defense has been atrocious for the entire season and has allowed an average of 39.9 points in 2012.

They will have to slow a TCU offense that scored 102 combined points against Baylor and Texas Tech. Slowing offenses hasn't been their strong point, though, as the winning bet has been the over in seven of West Virginia's last 10 home games.
