The SMU Mustangs, despite an overall record of 1-2, have yet to play an in-conference game, and are still relevant in Conference USA play.
Though the SMU Mustangs find themselves sitting at 1-2 on the season, they're still perfectly alive within Conference USA play, as the Mustangs have yet to play an in-conference game.
Tulsa currently leads the CUSA West, with a 1-0 record, while Rice and Tulane sit at 0-1. SMU, UTEP and Houston have yet to start conference play.
SMU's first CUSA game will come on Saturday, Oct. 6, when the Mustangs head to UTEP to take on the Miners. From that point on, it'll be all CUSA games for the Mustangs.
