The SMU Mustangs and UCF Knights face off in a crucial showdown between Conference USA foes on Saturday.
The SMU Mustangs travel to BH Networks Stadium to take on the UCF Knights on Saturday in a battle between two teams fighting for the Conference USA title.
The Mustangs have rebounded from an inconsistent start to the season, winning easily over Houston and Memphis in their last two games. SMU has utilized a resurgence on offense and a strong defense to save the season and will have a tough test on Saturday against a strong UCF team.
The Knights have their eyes set on the Conference USA title, having won four straight games following a 2-2 start to the season. A win for UCF on Saturday would mean the Knights only need to win two of their final three games to lock up the Eastern Division, while the Mustangs must win out the season to finish atop the Western Division in the conference.
Despite the late surge by the Mustangs and quarterback Garrett Gilbert, the Knights are favored by 12 points at home on Saturday.
Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT with coverage on CBS Sports Network.
