Rangers Vs. Twins Final Score: Minnesota Defeats Texas 5-1

The Texas Rangers had a poor performance by starting pitcher Martin Perez who gave up four runs in their 5-1 loss to the Minnesota Twins on Friday night. The Twins were able to get to Perez in the third inning by scoring three runs in the third inning, and then another in the fourth to go up 4-0.

The Rangers offense never got into a groove against Francisco Liriano who gave up just a single run in 6.1 innings of work. There were chances for the Rangers as they had five hits and six walks against, but going 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position is what hurt the Rangers the most.

The Rangers also lost All-Star outfielder Josh Hamilton in the fifth inning after he was experiencing back spasms after making a play on a ball in the outfield. The severity of the injury is unknown at this time.
