With the NBA Draft only a few hours away, the only thing we know for sure is that the New Orleans Hornets will be picking Kentucky star Anthony Davis with the No. 1 overall pick.
Beyond that, with a huge glut of talented but flawed prospects behind him, the draft is still fairly unpredictable. As a result, no one really knows how the whole order will unfold on Thursday night.
By the time the Dallas Mavericks come on the board with the No. 17 overall pick, there isn't close to a consensus about who will be available for them.
Over at the SB Nation mothership, Tom Ziller has Dallas going with Washington SG Terrence Ross, while RealGM has them taking Duke SG Austin Rivers:
17. Dallas Mavericks: Austin Rivers
Rivers perfectly fits the Jason Terry mold for Dallas and he also would be able to coexist defensively with a bigger point guard like Deron Williams as a best case scenario for the franchise.
Over at SI.com, Sam Amick has them taking advantage of the sudden fall of John Henson to take the UNC shot-blocker, while ESPN Insider Chad Ford has them scooping up Kentucky PF Terrence Jones.
At this point, your guess is as good as the experts.
