The Mavericks are looking to clinch the sixth overall seed in the Western Conference with a win at Atlanta, where the Hawks are battling for first round home court advantage.
Dallas and Atlanta meet Thursday night with assurances of playoff spots already sewn up, but still with work remaining for both teams. The Hawks need a win to take home court from the Celtics in their upcoming first round meeting, and the Mavericks are trying to lock down either the sixth or seventh seed in the Western Conference.
If the Denver Nuggets lose their game at Minnesota (being played at the same time, so it's unlikely Dallas rests their starters), the Mavs would clinch the No. 6 overall seed. Dallas cannot fall to the No. 8 seed by virtue of tiebreakers.
