The Mavs are officially in the playoffs, but now they'll need to keep winning for the best seed possible. Their home finale Friday against Golden State is still a must-win.
The Dallas Mavericks clinched their 12th consecutive playoff berth on Thursday night without ever taking the floor - Houston's overtime loss to New Orleans mathematically guaranteed the Mavs a playoff spot, but with three remaining regular season games, there's still plenty at stake in terms of seeding. Dallas can manage the minutes of its starters against the lowly Warriors tonight.
By virtue of tiebreakers over Utah and Phoenix (fighting for the final spot), Dallas likely couldn't fall past either team to the No. 8 seed, provided they can beat Golden State on Friday. Dallas closes its season with road trips to Chicago and Atlanta, both in the Eastern Conference playoff hunt.
