NBA Western Conference Standings: Mavericks Drop To No. 6 Seed After Loss To Clippers

The Mavericks had a chance on Monday night to get within a half-game of the Clippers for the No. 4 spot in the Western Conference playoff race, but instead the Mavericks offense failed to show up and fell 94-75 to no be 2.5 games behind the Clippers for home court advantage.

The Mavericks now are in the No. 6 spot as the Memphis Grizzlies pulled off the upset against the Oklahoma City Thunder to stay ahead of the Mavericks. There are still 12 games left in the regular season, and the Mavericks can not afford any type of slide or they could find themselves on the outside of the playoff race as they are only 2.5 games ahead of the Utah Jazz who are currently the No. 9 team in the West.

Mavericks Vs. Clippers Final Score: Los Angeles Blows Out Dallas, 94-75

The Dallas Mavericks had a chance to make up some ground toward the getting home court advantage for the playoffs, but instead the Los Angeles Clippers routed the Mavericks 94-75. The Mavericks offense struggled Monday night with only Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry scoring in double digits with Nowitzki putting up 19 and Terry scoring 12 points, and as a team they shot 39 percent.

The Mavericks were missing Jason Kidd and Lamar Odom who were out with injury, and their record drops to 0-7 when Odom does not play. The Mavericks

The Clippers offense was in the zone on Monday night as Randy Foye led all scorers with 28 points, and as a team the Clippers made 47 percent of their shots but the key in the blowout was making 11-of-32 from three-point range.

The loss for the Mavericks drop them to the No. 6 spots and 2.5 games behind the Clippers for the coveted No. 4 spot in the Western Conference.

Mavericks Vs. Clippers Halftime Score: Dallas Struggling Against L.A., Trail 47-33

This game is a key Western Conference game for playoff seeding as the Dallas Mavericks are trailing the Los Angeles Clippers by 1.5 games for home court advantage. However, after one half of play it does not look like the Mavericks will be gaining any ground tonight on the Clippers as they trail 47-33 at the half.

Dirk Nowitzki is leading the way for the Mavericks with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting, but the rest of the team is not doing as well. As a team the Mavericks are shooting 35 percent from the field and only 2-of-12 from three-point range with the next leading scorer being Jason Terry who has five points.

The Clippers offense is a team effort as they are shooting 53 percent from the field and have four players with eight or more points with Blake Griffin leading the way with nines points and five rebounds.
