A poor third quarter proved to be more than the Dallas Mavericks could overcome as they fell to the Memphis Grizzlies by a score of 96-85. After taking a 49-47 lead into halftime, Dallas was outscored 27-19 in the third quarter and 49-36 in the second half.
Dirk Nowitzki suffered tightness in his back during the first half and left the game after scoring just one point. He did not return to the game. Jason Terry led the Mavericks with 18 points and five assists while Rodrigue Beaubois added 16 points. Brendan Haywood chipped in 10 points for the Mavericks.
Marc Gasol led the Grizzlies with 22 points and 11 rebounds while Mike Conley finished with 20 points and 10 assists. Rudy Gay chipped in 18 points and Dante Cunningham came off the bench to score 10.
