Stay connected for news and updates

The Dallas Mavericks held off a third quarter comeback to defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves 104-97. Dirk Nowitzki led the way once again for the Mavericks as he put up 33 points to lead all scorers and he has averaged 26.5 points in his last four games, but in the that stretch the Mavericks have been only 2-2.

The other key ingredient in Friday night's win was the return of Jason Kidd who has missed the past six games with a right calf strain. Kidd returned to score eight points, two steals, four rebounds but most importantly he had 10 assists while running the offense.

Minnesota's Kevin Love did the best he could do to keep them in the game with 32 points by going a perfect 14 for 14 from the line and 12 rebounds.
