Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Love are in a scoring battle tonight. Love has 17 points and Nowitzki has 16, but the Dallas Mavericks are up at the half 56-45 over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Mavericks also welcome back Jason Kidd who has been out the past six games with a strained right calf he suffered against the Utah Jazz on Jan. 27. So far tonight Kidd has played 11 minutes, and has two points and four assists.
The Mavericks are leading by 11 points due to their three-point shooting edge over the Timberwolves with a four to one edge, and they are shooting better from the field and are making 47 percent of their shots compared to 41 percent for the Timberwolves.
