Mavericks Vs. Thunder Final Score: Dirk Nowitzki's 26 Points Leads Dallas To 100-87 Win

Dirk Nowitzki scored 16 of his 26 points in the second half as the Dallas Mavericks handed the Oklahoma City Thunder their first loss of the season 100-87.

Dallas used big second and third quarters to forge a lead against the Thunder and were able to hold on down the stretch. The Mavericks held their own on the boards and handed out 21 assists in the game. Nowitzki made 10-16 shots for his 26 points and also grabbed six rebounds.

Jason Terry and Vince Carter combined to score 29 points off the bench for the Mavericks with Carter going 8-9 from the free throw line. Shawn Marion scored 17 for the Mavericks who improve earned just their second win of the season.

Kevin Durant finished with a game-high 27 points for the Thunder. Russell Westbrook added 18 points and eight rebounds while Serge Ibaka chipped in 10.

Mavericks Vs. Thunder Score: Dallas Takes 54-47 Lead Into Halftime

The Dallas Mavericks used a big second quarter to grab a 54-47 lead at the half over the undefeated Oklahoma City Thunder. The Mavericks outscored the Thunder 34-27 in the second behind a much improved rebounding effort by the club.

Dallas holds a 24-21 advantage on the glass in the first half which is significant given their struggles this season in that department. The Mavericks also hit 48 percent of their shots in the first half. Jason Terry and Vince Carter came off the bench to score 12 points and lead all Mavericks scorers. Dirk Nowitzki has 10 points at the half on 4-5 shooting from the floor. Jason Kidd went scoreless in the first half but handed out seven assists.

Kevin Durant leads the Thunder with 12 points at the half and is followed by Russell Westbrook with nine. Serge Ibaka chipped in eight points and has five rebounds to lead the Thunder.
