The 2011 NBA playoffs have been wacky so far, with the Spurs losing to the Grizzles and all, but would anybody have guessed this?
The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Los Angeles Lakers last night 98-92 in Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals, taking a commanding 3-0 series lead against the two-time defending champions. The pressure will be on both Kobe Bryant and the refs to make a series out of this, given that no team in NBA history has ever come back from an 0-3 deficit to win a playoff series.
Game 4 will be held on Sunday, 2:30 p.m. CDT, 12:30 p.m. PDT.
The third game in the Memphis/Oklahoma City series will be held today at 4:00 p.m. CDT. The Grizzles and Thunder are currently tied at one game a piece with the series shifting for the first time to Memphis.
The big game for Saturday night is of course the Heat and the Celtics. Miami will be looking to take a commanding 3-0 series lead, but will have to do so in the Garden in Boston. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CDT.
Lastly, the Bulls and Derrick Rose knocked off the Hawks last night easily, 99-82 to take a 2-1 series lead. Rose was brilliant and showed why he was the NBA MVP, scoring 44 points en route to the victory.
