NBA Finals 2011: Mavericks Forced To Use Phoenix's Airplane

The Dallas Mavericks are travelling to Miami to take on the Heat for Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The Mavs, though, will not be using either of their jets owned by Mark Cuban to Miami. The storms that passed through the Dallas area earlier this week left both of Cuban's jets damaged according to Jeff Caplan. Instead, the Mavericks will be using the Phoenix Suns' plane.

The club's two luxury jetliners, a 757 and 767 owned by Mark Cuban, were both damaged by hail while parked at Love Field during the storms that hit earlier in the week, and are grounded for repairs.

The Mavs are calling in a plane from Phoenix that the Suns charter for a majority of their road trips during the season.

The word is that the charter plane isn't fully decked out in first-class seating like Cuban's two planes.

Not the best start for Dallas as they head to Miami to take on the Heat, but hey, it's just a plane, right?
