The Dallas Mavericks, who were in danger of falling to the fourth seed, are now tied with the Los Angeles Lakers for the second seed in the Western Conference.
↵The Lakers were outscored 32-16 in a fourth quarter collapse against the Oklahoma City Thunder in a game that had all the makings of a juicy playoff matchup. The Lakers still hold the tiebreaker against the Mavericks but, the Mavericks have the easier schedule with a game against the Houston Rockets tonight before finishing the regular season off against the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday.
↵The second seed looked out of reach for the Mavericks after a four game losing streak that culminated in a Jason Terry tirade in the first half of a game against the Los Angeles Clippers. But things look to be back on track after a second half comeback against the Clippers and a 115-90 drubbing of the Phoenix Suns.
↵And now it's the Lakers' who are stumbling down the stretch. A five game losing steak has them needing a win against the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night to secure the second seed in the West.
↵Of course, in order for anything to happen, the Mavericks have to take care of business by beating the Houston Rockets tonight.
↵The game starts at 7:30 CT and can be seen on FSSW locally and NBATV.
